7) WRITER'S WORKSHOP
1. Power Poem: Write a first draft of a short poem about a favorite place using only prepositions in the first word of each line. You may NOT use the prepositions in the example poem below. EXAMPLE:
At the Beach
at the beach
amid many sunbathers
on my blanket
with my book
in the beautiful sunshine
is my favorite place to relax
2. Revise your draft by substituting words whose connotations do not suit your poem's intended mood. NOTE: Points will be deducted for each line that does not begin with a preposition. Also, make sure no line begins with the prepositions used in the example: at, amid, on, with, or in.
3. Copy and paste your final version in the form below.
8) SUBMIT YOUR WORK
9) PREPOSITIONS CHECKUP
A preposition shows location in place or in time. Prepositions never appear alone and are always found in prepositional phrases. A prep phrase will never contain the sentence's subject, main verb, or direct object.
